I am a multi-disciplinary artist from New Zealand, with a long-standing interest in painting wildlife and humankind.
I use portraiture to understand how we move and use our bodies and faces, exploring emotion and identity.
Strongly influenced by story and a need to show what lies beneath, the narrative in my painting is about the influence we have on the world and vice versa. While my commissioned work is largely realistic, I enjoy adding a touch of the surreal to my personal work.
My watercolour work is portraiture of people, dogs and New Zealand wildlife. I work on commission, and also have originals and prints for sale. The work is realistic and representative, and I enjoy the freedom, flexibility and immediacy which watercolour gives me.
